VA Automobile Adaptive Equipment (AAE) Schedule

Purpose: VA Adaptive Equipment Schedule for Automobiles and Other Conveyances (‘‘Schedule’’) means the VA schedule that contains the maximum allowable reimbursement amounts for the listed adaptive equipment. The Schedule also includes the maximum hourly labor rates for installation, repair, reinstallation, and replacement of this equipment and allowable fees that VA will pay.
*Limitations for assistance mean any itemized invoice; paid receipt or bill of statement must not exceed the amounts listed below. Repairs, replacements, reinstallations, labor costs will not exceed the monetary amount (US dollar) for payments to a registered provider and reimbursements to an unregistered provider. In cases where the itemized final invoice; paid receipt; or bill of sale for the purchase exceeds the maximum allowance payment or reimbursement amounts, the Prosthetic Representative will adjust the total to be paid or reimbursed on the VA Form 10-1394. VBA will review all payment and reimbursement amounts before finalizing payment to the registered provider or reimbursement to the unregistered provider. (38 CFR 17.158)
